Lenovo ThinkVision LT1421

Image
Got a Lenovo ThinkVision LT1421 on ebay not too long ago. I was skeptical at first; not just the monitor, but also the seller because I don't think he really tested the items before ship. Anyway, it arrived and it's in good appearance, but I got panicked after I connected it with my laptop. The monitor shows some lines with colors, so I thought maybe it's faulty. Then I started googling and found out sometimes the problem could be an under-powered port, but it was still a no go after I used it with a USB Y-cable. Luckily, I have many cables, and after many tries, one of them worked. So far, I'm please with this external monitor. It doesn't have a high resolution, but it is intended for road warriors to have an extra screen to be productive. One thing to keep in mind if you want to buy one of these, it gets laggy when it shows something graphically intensive. Pro: Convenience. No need for external power. Con: Not good with video.
